Falling Star

“Entertainment Shooting Star Love the independent vibe of this space! It’s really refreshing to find creators who just put their genuine thoughts and daily journals out there without over-polishing everything.” – Rebecca Facebook

Falling Star by NoRulezChris

I was just sentenced to a D.U.I. in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was on tour with DaBaby and was sitting in a parking lot getting ready to leave an apartment complex, when a police officer knocked on the window. I had just put my keys in the car but didn’t start the ignition. I drank a small amount of Rum throughout the night. That was enough to get arrested and go to jail.
I was just making the transition from concert producer/promoter, to civilian. I just quit the business and was dealing with this D.U.I., I got on tour. Technically my attorney got me a plea bargain to a defaulted headlamp. I still had to pay the fines, take the classes and do the volunteer community service. My desire to change was evident in my hard work and mental focus, plus no alcohol or drugs including weed.
NoRulezChris volunteered at the Littleton Historical Museum on 6028 S. Gallup in Littleton Colorado. I would rake leaves on the grounds, take out the trash inside the museum, and clean the rooms.
On my last night of community service I polished, in detail, everything in the upcoming exhibition. There was to be a special reception the following night before the grand opening. I polished each individual case that held ancient swords and knives. The weapons were from battles and wars throughout time. I was getting very intimate with forms of death and destruction from all over the world.
I finished bonding with the historical cutlery, finished my Civic duties, said goodbye to the manager, Pedro and bounced out. Jlo and our sleeping children picked me up around ten at night. As we drove home I pondered my future as a concert producer/promoter. Do I ride the ups and downs of having money here, and no money there? Do I deal with the stress of not knowing when my next paycheck will come in? Would I still wanna work with so many people and be influenced by so many others?
Should I keep going? Could I get better? Was it worth the roller coaster ride?
As I pondered these questions, I looked out my window and I saw a shooting star. Wow, I should make a wish, I thought. Should I wish to be the next best great promoter/music producer? Best concert creator of all time? No, I decided to not wish. I did not want my wish to be granted.
I watched the star fall to the ground, boom, the night sky, lit up totally bright with a strange light for a second. All I could see was light everywhere for just a second. Jlo did not see the light. My star had hit the ground somewhere out west of Colorado. Time to create new dreams so I am ready for my next shooting star.
